<p>Idag menar forskare att universum breder ut sig i ett plan. Eller att det har en så flack kurva att det varken går att se eller förstå dess krökning, inte ens om vi skulle färdas ofantligt många ljusår framåt i samma riktning. Runt på jorden cirkulerar vi, förankrade i våra kroppar, på marken hållna av tyngdlagen.</p>
<p>I havets djup och i rymdens oändlighet sätts tyngdlagen temporärt ur spel och våra kroppar svävar. Det är en liknande känsla att blicka ner i havets bråddjup som att titta upp mot en klar stjärnhimmel, känslan av att stå inför något oändligt och ovisst på gränsen mot det ogreppbara. Skalor förskjuts. Tanken svävar fritt. Tid och rum löser upp sig, men även upplevelsen av oss själva och hur vi fungerar. Blicken vänds inåt och blickar ut i det oändliga på samma gång. En delad känsla av att inte vilja vara endast en kropp eller definieras som en. En önskan om att kunna lämna den, om än tillfälligt, att bli tyngdlös och fri.</p>
<p>I Ami Bergmans och Peter Wallströms måleri ställs vi inför en annan form av tyngdlöshet och förtätning. Det skruvade blir här en möjlig frizon där tanken om en verklighet bortom den rådande får näring. En brytpunkt och en längtan bort ifrån det uppenbara för att slutligen landa i en ödmjukhet inför att något kan förbli oförklarligt och ändå existera. Även i tider av stor osäkerhet måste vi komma ihåg vad frihet är.</p>

<p>En enskild scen berättas från flera olika perspektiv. Vi känner igen greppet från filmens, teaterns och litteraturens värld, men hur om vi skulle presentera en utställning på ett sådant sätt?</p>
<p>Tre konstnärer har bjudits in att arbeta med en utställning som kommer att berättas i tre kapitel under året. Varje kapitel har en huvudröst, men varje kapitel är också summan av ett gemensamt utforskande som guidar oss igenom de åtskilliga lager som utgör en konstnärlig praktik. Säregen, oväntad, ombytlig är ord vars betydelser vi tycker om. Så mycket mer tillfredsställande än igenkännlig, säker och levererbar. Men som vi alla vet kräver ett sådant förhållningssätt till ens arbete mod och uppmuntran. Så vi frågar oss själva vilken typ av konstvärld vi vill vara del av. Hur kan vi förändra strukturer och inte bara valen vi gör.</p>
<p>Huvudrösten i det tredje kapitlet tillhör Sara Lindeborg, en röst som speglar konsthistoria genomsyrad av feminism och utforskar måleriets rytmiska lager-på-lager som förhandlingsyta. Hon spårar ornamentens omåttliga historik av migration, skillnader och ihopblandningar som format världen såsom vi känner den idag. Under tiden träder en upplöst pastoral fram ur exiliska strategier och längtan efter en annan värld. På frågan om hur en blottar sina innersta angelägenheter responderar Selma Sjöstedt och Angelica Falkeling med verk som balanserar den fina linje mellan det personliga och det allmängiltiga. Deras verk genljuder levda erfarenheter, från längtan efter något immateriellt, att vilja vara något en inte är, till de avgörande besluten vi står inför i våra liv. Långsamt och varsamt kontamineras den individuella praktiken och ger plats åt en gemensam strävan som överskrider den påtvingade begränsningen av en signaturstil.</p>
<p>Vi berättar historier för varandra för att leva. Vi berättar historier för varandra för att drömma, för att låta idéer långsamt filtrera igenom våra sinnen och forma ett större kollektivt medvetande. <em>Shepherdess and Other Exilic Vernaculars</em> är det tredje och sista kapitlet i Malmötrilogin.</p>
