The Melt Goes On Forever: The Art and Times of David Hammons (2022), 1h 41min

A portrait of African-American artist David Hammons whose elusive, rule-breaking practice offers an essential commentary on race in America, as well as the absurdity of the art world and the even bigger absurdity of the art market.
The film chronicles a singular career that spans from Watts rebellion era ‘60s L.A. to the global circuit of art dealers, collectors, and auctions of today. With the motto to be radical in the mainstream, Hammons’ work seeks to outmanoeuvre the oppressor at all times.

The Melt Goes On Forever: The Art and Times of David Hammons is screened in conjunction to our current exhibition Money or Life.
